Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (BICT)

The Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology (BICT) is a 3-year degree program designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving field of ICT. The program equips students with both theoretical foundations and hands-on skills in computing, software development, data communications, cybersecurity, networking, and IT project management.

1. Direct Entry

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent, with a credit in Mathematics at ‘O’ Level

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least two principal passes at the same sitting

2. Mature Age Entry

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 25 years of age

  • Pass the Cornerstone University Mature Entry Examinations
    This route caters to individuals with work or technical experience in ICT-related environments who seek formal academic qualification.

3. Diploma Entry

Applicants must possess:

  • At least a Second-Class (Lower) Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or an equivalent field such as:

    • CCNA, CCNP, or other recognized IT certifications
      This route is suitable for applicants who have undergone technical training and wish to upgrade their qualification to a bachelor’s level.
